 VVN supports candidates who want Newton to be an open, welcoming and vibrant city where people from all backgrounds can live.
We want walkable village centers and a range of housing options that will allow older neighbors to downsize here and will attract the younger generation that is missing from our community. We believe that well-planned development near village centers and transit will help us do our part in the battle against climate change. The candidates we endorse reflect these values. Voters for a Vibrant Newton announces its endorsements for the September 12 preliminary elections for City Council. Based on their responses to its questionnaire, the Steering Committee of VVN voted unanimously to endorse Dan Gaynor for Ward 2 Councilor and Martha Bixby for Ward 6 Councilor. Both positions are being contested in 3-way races after incumbents decided not to stand for reelection.
