Our Mission
Voters for a Vibrant Newton (VVN) is a Political Action Committee that believes Newton can become a more vital and welcoming city by taking steps to create a more diverse and accessible community. VVN does this by supporting candidates and policies that will:

- Encourage the creation of affordable and attainable housing options for people of every age, race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status;
- Make our village centers vibrant hubs for shopping, living, dining, cultural activities, and civic engagement;
- Address climate change and reduce Newton’s carbon footprint;
- Expand our tax base to ensure the City remains financially healthy, while providing and expanding core services, including those directed at schools, older adults, and shared infrastructure.
- Mixed-use developments that put housing within walking distance of retail and commercial properties, cultural amenities and jobs.
- Zoning and social policies that support diverse multi-family housing options, providing affordable homes for our new neighbors to live, and helping support the most vulnerable in our community.
- Transportation policies that reduce single-occupancy vehicle usage and create bike and pedestrian friendly access.
- Tax and economic growth policies that keep the City fiscally strong and in a position to pay teachers and municipal employees competitive salaries, maintain or replace our aging schools, and strengthen Newton’s infrastructure and transportation network.
