ABOUT US

Voters for a Vibrant Newton is a registered political action committee (PAC).

Our Mission

Vibrant Newton is dedicated to electing city councilors who champion a sustainable and vibrant community where people from all backgrounds can live, work, and learn together.

Our Vision

Promote Sustainability
We want our city to be healthy, resilient and sustainable. A sustainable city responds to climate change and strengthens its financial foundation. Through local action and careful planning, we can live, work, and play within walking distance of public transit and neighborhood amenities. A financially strong city can deliver high quality services, including great schools. Increasing both residential and commercial development will improve affordability over time and build a stable revenue base needed to maintain the city we love.

Build Community
We envision a Newton where our children can live as adults, where aging neighbors can downsize and stay in our community, where young people and families can build their lives, and where those who serve our city—our teachers, firefighters, police officers, nurses, child care and retail workers, and more—can live near their workplaces and feel rooted in the community they help carry forward.  With collaboration between city government and residents, increased transparency, and effective communication, we can make Newton work for everyone who lives and works here.

Create Vibrancy
We believe in a vibrant and inviting Newton. With shops, restaurants, services, homes, and open spaces, our residents bring life to the streets. Safe sidewalks and bike paths, access to public transportation, and welcoming public spaces foster a stronger sense of community and increase business activity. With strong local businesses, more housing opportunities, and streamlined government processes, our community can thrive.

A Thriving City For All
We want Newtonians to be proud of our city and excited about our future. With excellent schools and aftercare programs, cultural and athletic offerings, and robust city services, Newton can support all its residents. By investing in effective solutions for climate adaptation, sustainable development, and more diverse housing options, Newton can be a leader in creating a welcoming and vibrant community.
